Australian stand-up star arrives in Newcastle

A celebrated venue in Newcastle will soon welcome an Australian funny man to its stage to perform his latest material.

Newcastle residents looking for laughs later this year are in luck. The home of comedy in the city is opening its doors to Australia’s Dave O’Neil for a stand-up show this spring. Entitled “Sucked In!”, the performance promises an hour filled with the Melbourne comic’s unique brand of comedy.

Clubs and theatres that hold comedy events sometimes connect with flyer printing services that can design engaging adverts that encourage the community to attend.

A multi-talented entertainer, O’Neil is also a musician, writer, radio personality, television presenter, podcaster and actor. He first discovered a chance to tell jokes as a field officer serving for the Red Cross when he would give training sessions and talks.

After playing in a band with his identical twin brother in the 80s, O’Neil pursued a career on radio and television. He has appeared on the radio and in countless TV shows like “Sleuth 101”, “Spicks and Specks” and the “Celebrity Name Game”, among many others.

Dave O'Neil will now perform Sucked In! at the Newcastle Comedy Club on Saturday, November 1. The stand-up show will get started at 6 pm and runs until 7 pm and the club can be found at 1a Darby Street in Newcastle.
