The announcement comes after Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian re-tendered for the project’s construction. As a result of her actions, she said, better value was achieved for her constituents, adding:
“While the estimated total cost for this build is higher than what we originally anticipated, it is much better value than what we would have achieved had we not gone back to the market. It is important to deliver the world class stadium we promised to attract the best events to our State.”
Printing services are often kept busy preparing marketing materials for the myriad of events that are held in major venues such as the Sydney Football Stadium.
The cost to build the new stadium is now estimated to be around $828 million, including demolition of the old structure, contingency and other costs associated with delivering the project.
Sport’s Acting Minister, Geoff Lee is confident a commitment by John Holland to have the stadium up and running by the NRL Grand Final time in 2022 can be achieved. The aim is to work closely with all sporting partners to ensure a fixture schedule for later that year will be finalised.
Planning approvals for the huge project have been received, according to Rob Stokes, Minister for Planning.
