Locals in Banksmeadow are invited to attend a market returning to the surrounding area in March.
Supported by Randwick City Council since 2014, the market celebrates the work of First Nations business owners. The market will open with a Welcome to Country by Aunty Barb, followed by a Smoking Ceremony.
Marketgoers can browse through the Indigenous-owned stalls and observe a singing performance by Radical Son. Djiriba Waagura will perform traditional dances, and Wiradjuri Wave will lead a weaving workshop. There will also be a dance and storytelling workshop for children to enjoy.
Stalls will feature original artworks, unique handicrafts and homewards, jewellery and Aboriginal-inspired refreshments. All proceeds of the market will be returned to Aboriginal communities, supporting small businesses and strengthening the culturally diverse community.
Market organisers can connect with Print shops to make the most out of their advertising. A professional Print team can provide high-quality, attractive marketing products that capture attention and encourage local attendance.
The Blak Markets will be held on Saturday, March 15 at La Perouse Museum. The location of the museum is 1542 Anzac Parade, La Perouse NSW 2036. The markets open at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude at 3:00 p.m. Entry is free. Traders will be announced closer to the event date.
