Those with limited outdoor space in the area of Alexandria might wish to take advantage of a workshop teaching them how to grow delicious edible plants.
Small spaces need not be a disadvantage for those with green fingers. As part of an initiative by Sydney City Farm, a workshop has been set up to prove that anyone can grow edible plants, no matter where they live.
During the workshop, there will be pointers on choice of soil, suitable plants for the season and how to take care of these plants. There will also be gardening tips that can help save money, such as swapping seedlings with other growers. The workshop is for adults and caters for those with no experience, as well as those who are familiar with the basics.
During the course, there will be a short break for morning tea. Attendees will leave the workshop with the knowledge required for them to get them started, as well as six small edible plants. Detailed notes are also provided, which may have been produced by local printing services.
The Edible Gardens for Renters Workshop is taking place on Saturday, 4 May, from 10am until 12.30pm. The venue can be found at the Sydney Park Pavilion, Euston Road, Alexandria.
The cost of a full-price ticket is $75.00. Those enrolled are encouraged to bring paper, a pen and a water bottle.
