While the thermometer’s mercury may be low, Hudson will still be full of hot air, thanks to an upcoming event packed with high-flying fun.
This February, the community will be hosting its annual winter hot air balloon event, and the theme is “Skywalkers Return to Rock.” It will be a combination of a rally and a winter festival, and everyone is encouraged to put on their long johns and head to the launch field so they can take in the fun.
The weekend will include balloon flights, so long as the weather cooperates. Many of the events from last year will be back, and the festivities will open with a mass, early morning launch. Only service animals should be brought to the launching field, and unauthorized drones will not be permitted.
To add more fun to the occasion and create community buy-in, the organizers have announced that they will be running the “Name the Porta Potty” competition throughout January.
