Yearly festival welcomes summer to Seattle
The 35th annual West Seattle Summer Festival is taking place next month for three days. Several blocks will be closed off to traffic on those days.
This free festival will have activities that will appeal to people of all ages and interests.
There will be vendors lined up along the street who will be selling handmade arts and crafts such as jewelry, clothing and paintings, merchandise, and food and drink. There will also be several beer gardens.
Musical entertainment will be provided by groups like Purple Mane (a Prince tribute band), Dryland, and Meg Bog. DJ Kurt Bloch will also be performing. There will be a Kids’ Zone hosted by Clowns Unlimited that will have a variety of rides, games, and fun activities.
The festival also features the Greenlife section that is basically an environmental expo. There will be demonstrations of green products and educational presentations. Environmental community organizations will be on hand to provide information about their various programs and services.
It is likely that many of the vendors and community organizations will be handing out promotional products, such as custom pens featuring their name, to Seattle residents who attend.
The West Seattle Summer Festival will take place along SW Oregon Street from July 14 to 16. Admission is free of charge. To learn more about this event, call 206-935-0904.
