Geek convention continues run in Seattle
The GeekGirlCon will be held again in Seattle this year, at The Conference Center.
This convention is a little different to others like it because it focuses on the female role in geek culture, with the hope of empowering women.
It will run for two days, and has programming for both days. There will be multiple panels, signings, meet-and-greets, and crafting or DIY workshops. The full schedule is available online, and will likely be available printed at the event as well.
GeekGirlCon started in 2011 with its first two-day convention, and continues to hold the same goals: highlighting female contributors and producers, empowering females of all ages, and inspiring the younger generations.
The Conference Center is across the street from the Washington State Convention center in downtown Seattle. This area is easily accessible by public transit or car, as there are multiple paid parking lots in the area.
Events like this often use printing services to have daily updates available for attendees. It is also likely that many of the exhibitors will have business cards on hand.
The convention will be open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm both days on November 16 and 17. Passes are available for $35 per adult per day, or $50 for a weekend pass. Children's passes are good all weekend, and are $15 for ages 6 to 12. Younger children enter for free.
