Comedy company to perform in Vienna

The Barns at Wolf Trap in Vienna will be inviting a talented comedy group to give multiple performances in February.

People interested in hearing live comedic entertainment can attend a show performed by the troupe known as The Second City. The performance features improvised comedy, interactions with audience members, and comedic songs. Those who go to the show must follow the venue’s regulations and wear a face covering. Attendees are also required to bring along proof of receiving the vaccine or having a negative COVID test.

The Second City was first formed as a cabaret theater in 1959 and was co-founded by Bernie Sahlins, Howard Alk, and Paull Sills. The group puts on several performances, including The Lockdown Improv Jam and Welcome to the Party. People can also take classes with the company to learn skills like writing sketch comedy scenes, performing stand-up routines, acting, and physical performance. Businesses offering lessons similar to these can advertise themselves through flyer printing.

The comedy performances will take place from Thursday, February 24 to Sunday, February 27. Tickets for the show can be purchased for $32. Guests can enter the venue 90 minutes before the performance begins. Those interested in taking classes with The Second City can look at the group’s available courses online. The comedy company also offers assistance with employee engagement programs.
