The Muse Writers Center in Norfolk will be holding a camp in August to help kids hone their writing abilities.
The Creative Writing Camp is an educational workshop for children interested in developing as writers. Each day of the program will explore a different form of expression, such as poetry, comic Books, and song writing. At the end of the camp, the kids will get to read or perform their favorite genre to family and friends. All necessary supplies and snacks are provided to the campers. Children under 18 are required to get permission from their guardians or parents to attend the writing camp.
The instructor for the workshop will be Jessica Grace Kelley, an experienced novelist and teacher for The Muse Writers Center. She originally worked as a book reviewer and has won several awards throughout her career, including the Emma Merritt Award and YA Molly Award. Kelley is represented by the McIntosh and Otis Literary Agency, and Christa Heschke is her agent. Professional teachers like this may create personal Business Cards to give to potential clients.
The writing camp will take place from Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 12, and each session will last from 9:00 am to noon. The price to attend the creative workshop is $245 per student. Children aged 7-10 are the intended age group for the program.
