Festival to educate on eating locally and healthfully

The 4th annual Grow Your Health Festival, which is taking place next month, will help to educate Fairfax County residents on how homegrown food can be especially healthy.

The festival will feature more than 60 local farmers and food providers who will be selling a variety of homegrown and organic produce, making the event into a sort of preseason farmers' market. Several keynote speakers will be on hand to discuss topics such as healthful living and chronic pain relief; among the confirmed speakers are Debby Ward and Jordon Green.

Guests can take classes in wellness, organic farming, nutrition, and gardening (beginner and advanced). For the children, there is kids’ yoga, indoor recess, and classes on subjects like farming and gardening.

In addition, there will be a viewing of the film ‘Growing Cities’. Food and refreshments will also be available for purchase.

Those who are interested in eating more healthily and organically will no doubt be attending this event, and it will likely attract people from all over Fairfax County, including McLean. Investing in flyer printing services may help to spread the word.

The Grow Your Health Festival will be held at Fairfax High School on March 5 from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. Admission is $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and children aged 16 and under will be admitted free of charge. Call 703-476-9377 for more information.
