The Cottonwood Art Festival will return to Richardson this May. It will feature nearly 200 artists selected from over 1,400 applicants.
The event, which has grown significantly since its inception in 1969, is now regarded as a premier fine arts festival. The festival has grown from a small group of artists into a tradition, attracting top artists and thousands of visitors each year.
The festival will showcase fine art in various media, including painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media. Visitors can explore a diverse selection of food options, with vendors serving barbecue, southern cuisine, handcrafted sodas, and espresso. The festival's ArtStop section will offer hands-on activities for children, allowing them to engage in painting, weaving, and clay sculpting.
Admission is free, however some children’s activities require a small fee. A dedicated bike parking section will be available close to the main entryway, while festival parking will be located opposite the grounds at Richardson High School. Shuttles will be operating through the weekend.
Food vendors will offer a range of beverages, including wine, craft beer, and margaritas for purchase. Security personnel will enforce festival policies, including restrictions on outside alcohol, skateboards, and unauthorized solicitation.
Banner printing may be used to highlight the different aspects of events such as this one.
The event will take place at Cottonwood Park, 1321 West Belt Line Road. Richardson, Texas. Spring dates are May 3rd through 4th, with activities running from 10 am to 7 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
