Richardson workshop to showcase drone careers

A free, hands-on workshop in Richardson will introduce attendees to career opportunities in the fast-growing drone industry this September.

This event, titled Drones & Dollars: Launching a Career That Pays, will focus on how drones are transforming fields such as aerial photography, mapping, inspections, construction, real estate, and agriculture.

The event will be instructed by Steffanie Rivers, recognized as the first Black lady to have a registered drone school in Texas. Participants will learn how to obtain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification, identify drone industries that pay well, and explore business ventures that can be started for under $500. Success stories from individuals who have turned drone skills into income will also be featured, along with advice on avoiding common mistakes in the field.

The session is aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs, career changers, veterans, first responders, students aged 17 and older, and professionals in construction, real estate, and media. Live demonstrations and hands-on activities will allow attendees to experience drone operations directly. Opportunities to enroll in drone training and certification programs through TCB Drones Academy will be available on site.

Events of this nature may benefit from professional flyer printing, which can boost awareness and ensure event details reach the right audience.

The workshop will be held Saturday, September 6 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at The Drawing Board, 1900 Jay Ell Drive, Richardson. Doors open at 9:40 am. Free parking will be available.
