Brave athletes can take part in a Halloween-inspired race, as the city of Plano will host a ‘Haunt Jaunt Nighttime 5K and Fun Run’ later this month.
Participants will speed through a nature preserve and be treated to Halloween decorations. The family-friendly, one-mile fun run features a street-free path, and will feature an eerie atmosphere and a few thrills and chills along the way.
In order to get the word out about the ‘Haunt Jaunt’, the event organizers might ask a flyer printing service in Plano to make some promotional handouts. The event will take place at the Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve and Oak Point Amphitheatre, located on 2801 East Spring Creek Parkway.
Registration costs $10 for the fun run and $25 for the 5K. With each paid child, adults can run with their kids in the one mile race. In addition, all registrants will receive a free T-shirt. For an additional $5, chip timing is available.
Oak Point Recreation Center, located on Jupiter Road, will be passing out event packets on October 15 and 16 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. On October 18, check-in and registration starts at 5:00 pm followed by the fun run at 6:30 pm. At 7:00 pm, attendees can take part in a costume parade. The Haunt Jaunt 5K then starts at 7:25 pm with awards at 8:15 pm.
