Planos Veterans Center of North Texas opens its doors

The 160,000 veterans, as well as their families who live in Plano and the surrounding counties, have a new place to go for support and services.

The Veterans Center of North Texas recently opened its doors at its new location in Plano. Speakers who attended the grand opening ceremony included Texas Representative Jeff Leach, as well as Dean Hall, who presented the center with a special stick that he had carved for the occasion. He remarked that he is selective about which not-for-profits he chooses to support, and he felt that this was a very worthwhile cause.

A monument was also revealed during the ceremony, carrying center’s logo on the front and serving as a welcome to those who use it. Not-for-profits such as this can use Direct Mail printing to get the word out to veterans that they are there and ready to help.

The center functions through the efforts of a large group of volunteers, many of whom are veterans themselves. Paul Hendricks, who is the center’s director, explained they are the ones who really keep it going, and he is grateful for their dedication.

Former service members and their families can go to the Center to attend different support programs, and well as for referral to those that exist in the local area and further afield. They can get help with everything from accessing programs, to finding employment. It also provides a supportive environment for those dealing with trauma and PTSD.
