Plano to run week of adapted summer camp

An activity that will ensure all Plano kids get to enjoy a fun-filled summer is currently open for registration, and will be adapted so that children of all abilities can participate.

The plans for Nature Camp involve hands-on learning, and it is directly geared towards those with special physical or developmental needs. It will be held at the outdoor pavilion at Windhaven Meadows Park, and specially trained staff will be acting as counsellors.

The campers will be invited to explore their own sense of movement as well as the natural world, and they will be encouraged to develop both fine and gross motor skills through activities like using binoculars, making crafts, and playing games. Parents or guardians are welcome to register their child, and the fee to do so is $130. The experience is intended for those from the ages of 8 to 11, and it will run for five days.

Organizing an adapted summer camp experience may include using business Forms such as Letterheads, registration applications and liability waivers. These will all be available at local printers, and can include any custom graphic design desired.

The schedule for the Adapted Outdoor Nature Camp will run from June 13 to June 17. Each day will begin at 8:00 am and wrap up at 12:00 pm, and the Active Kids website offers further registration details for parents.
