Plano farm to host morning of feathery fun

Plano’s Heritage Farmstead Museum is home to a flock of friendly hens, and these lovely ladies will be hosting a morning of fun down on the farm.

The farm offers lots of programming for young children, and one of its summer initiatives will be focused on chickens and other poultry. It will give preschool kids a chance to meet some friendly fowl in person, and they will also learn more about where the eggs on their table come from.

Along with spending some time with the farm’s resident egg layers, the group will hear a story and learn more about how chickens are raised and cared for. They may even get a chance to feed some of their fine feathered friends, and these birds can often be just as curious about their young visitors as the kids are about them.

This instalment of the Fun on the Farm preschool program will run for approximately one and a half hours, and the organizers recommend purchasing tickets well in advance. Packages that include activity sheets, promotional Pens and other small items can be prepared to give to each child who is part of this sort of occasion.

Plano’s Heritage Farm Museum has tentatively scheduled this experience for August 7. It will begin at 10:00 am, and everyone who registers is advised to arrive a little bit early so they can enjoy even more time at the site.
