Plano families to enjoy guided outing

Plano parents and kids looking for a day out together may want to save room on their agenda for a visit to a local green space.

An excursion that will introduce the flora and fauna of Oak Point Park will be welcoming participants this January. It will go along at a relaxed pace, with Carol Ann Clark leading the activity.

The walkers will be invited to make discoveries, and they will stroll through an old growth forest, learning why it is important. They will also visit a meadow of prairie flowers, and the facilitator will point out birds and other wildlife. Discussion of native plants and how they have been used in the past is on the agenda as well, and the function is a production of Plano Parks and Recreation. The participants are asked to meet up in the lobby of the site’s Nature and Retreat Center.

Outings in the great outdoors can help kids to learn about and appreciate local natural spaces. Supplying each participant with a packet of materials such as activity sheets, promotional Pens, and guide Books may help them to keep on making discoveries even after it has drawn to a close.

Kids and parents alike are encouraged to enjoy this exploration of Plano’s Oak Point Park, which is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am on January 19. The registration system will open closer to its scheduled date.
