Plano cookery class to feature special ingredient

A Plano eatery has created a menu for a special tasting evening, putting Hatch chilies front and center in an assortment of dishes.

Central Market Plano will be serving up an assortment of fare that features Hatch chilies. The function will be limited to those who are at least 18 years of age. There will be three courses on the menu, and they will demonstrate how versatile these peppers can be.

The meal will open with a salad, which will be followed by a steak, mashed potatoes, and calabacitas, which is a popular Mexican-inspired side dish. The dinner will wrap up with Mexican apple cake, and those who are age 21 and up will receive a glass of wine. As this will be a demonstration of cookery, the attendees will have a chance to learn some new skills.

The planners of events like this often choose to supply each attendees with cards that provide them with the recipes used as well as additional cookery tips. These may be prepared by area Stationery printers, and may even be laminated so they will be easy to wipe clean.

Central Market Plano will be offering this Hatch-based cooking class and dinner on Friday, October 1. It will start at 6:30 pm , and the venue is located at 320 Coit Road. Tickets are $75 each.
