Plano area plans team building event with a twist

Companies take part in team building exercises to help them work together more efficiently, and the Plano area has been offered spots in one that is a little outside the box.

The Beyond the Smoke workshop runs for two days, and those who participate will be able to bond over BBQ prepared as a group. Each spot in the program has a registration fee of $595.

This will be the second time it has been on offer in the area, and Nick Kittle, who is an award winning civic innovator and keynote speaker, will be leading the activity along with Harry Soo, who is a champion Pot Master. It will begin with learning the BBQ basics, and this will be followed by a friendly guided cooking competition. The skills learned can be applied to cookery as well as other aspects of one’s working and private life. The next day will see Kittle address the group while he helps the participants develop their leadership skills.

Many corporations, businesses, and not-for-profits ask their employees to take part in team building and other training. Texts and other handouts for a session will be available at Print shops, which can offer several binding options for various types of publications.

This opportunity for corporate teams to train while enjoying food and fun will begin on October 9 at 8:30 am. The Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center will be the venue for the two-day activity.
