Adventure awaits children in Plano

Plano youngsters have the opportunity to attend several different summer camps at the Heritage Farmstead Museum over the next few weeks.

Designed for kids between the ages of 6 to 12, Creek Camp gives kids the opportunity to get out and play. Campers will take trips down to the creek, take part in experiments, play water games, and write in Journals.

Pioneer Camp is also recommended for kids between the ages of 6 and 12, and allows children to care for different animals and play traditional games like croquet.

The final camp, Junior Historian Camp, is for middle and high school students. This camp lets participants learn about archaeology and maps while taking part in hands-on activities.

Each camp costs $200 per week or $65 a day. After-camp care costs $30 per day or $120 for the week. No doubt the museum asked brochure printers to make informational handouts for the camps.

Creek Camp will be held from June 22 until June 26, July 20 through July 24, and August 3 through 7. Pioneer Camp will take place from July 6 through 10, and Historian Camp will go on from July 27 through 31.

Camps take place from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm each day. After-camp care is also available from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The Heritage Farmstead Museum is located on 1900 West 15th Street.
