Texas musician set to get Mansfield in motion

Mansfield country music lovers will be in for a treat this weekend, as award-winning artist Jesse Jennings will be performing locally.

Country musician Jennings has opened for such singers as Jack Ingram, John Conlee, and Jason Aldean. A native of Dublin, Texas, his write-up on the venue’s website states that he received a nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year in 2007, the year in which the band he is part of, Sister Jill, won Band of the Year. He has been writing songs about his life for more than 15 years, and draws his inspiration and musical style from the likes of Elvis, Dion, Bob Seeger, and Garth Brooks.

Although he has been affiliated with such groups as the Casey Donahew Band, for which he sand harmony and played his acoustic guitar, he now performs as a solo artist with his own four-man band, the Rippers. The concert will no doubt provide a great opportunity for picture taking of Jennings and his band, possibly for poster printing.

The event will be part of Sunday Funday on the Patio offered every other weekend for local music fans. The Marshall Tucker Band will be the next featured entertainment after Jennings.

The concert will be performed at Fat Daddy’s, 781 West Debbie Lane, Mansfield, on Sunday, July 27, beginning at 7:00 pm.
