At the moment, the food pantry, which is also called a food market, and the thrift store are at opposite ends of Mansfield. The new site, which will be located next to the Linda Nix Clinic, is owned by the organization. According to Stacia Miller, the nonprofit's director, centralizing theses campuses helps simplify the process for residents looking for services.
Miller said:
“The main goal is to remove barriers for families so that they have one location to come to. We want to be able to position ourselves to grow our programs and be able to grow our reach, so that as the city and this area continues to grow, we have the capacity to have a little bit more space.”
According to Miller, the initiative is a component of the Mansfield Mission Center's fundraising drive, which began on December 2. Over the coming three years, the group hopes to raise as much as $7.5m. Promotional Products tend to be an important part of fundraising drives like this.
As of January 19, the campaign had raised over $168,000. Miller says the first significant fundraising event is scheduled for April 30.
