Soccer complex turns to cornholing

The holiday season will be coming to a close soon and Mansfield families will be looking for something to ward off the mid-winter doldrums.

One possible solution will be the 2015 Ryder Cup Tournament. The Texas Cornhole League will be presenting its 4th annual Ryder Cup Tournament early next month.

Cornhole is basically the same game as bean bag. The equipment includes a wooden platform and four Bags containing corn. The Bags are thrown at the hole in the center of the platforms. The player gets four chances to gain one point for each bag that lands on the platform and three points every time the bag gets into the hole. The first player to reach 21 points wins. The throwing distance is 27 feet. Families can enjoy this event together and many may want to bring digital Business Cards.

The night before the main competition will be a Lonestar Event, and the next morning will be the main day of the tournament. The first round will be single elimination which will be followed by the double elimination tournament. The doubles final will be held in the early evening.

The competition will be held January 2 and 3 at Big League Dreams Indoor Soccer Complex, 500 Heritage Parkway, Mansfield. The pre-party is on Friday, January 2, and starts at 6:00 pm. Saturday’s event will start at 9:00 am and will end around 10:00 pm.
