Roosters set to strut into Mansfield

The Historic Farr Best Theater will be presenting an evening’s worth of entertainment later this month featuring the popular local band Johnnie Red & the Roosters.

Noted for their method of bringing the blues into renditions of both classic and new tunes, the band will no doubt bring plenty of energy to their performance.

Bandleader Johnnie Latham was born and raised in Fort Worth and has been playing in various bands for over 40 years, some of which garnered enough attention to allow him to play with the likes of Chuck Berry, Tina Turner, Johan Mayhall, Buddy Guy, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds.

Having been with the Roosters – a trio that also includes Robert Ealey and Ray Sharpe – for 28 years, Latham claims to have been inspired by Eric Clapton and BB King, and tells audiences he has been playing since he was just 15 years old. Those planning to attend may want to bring their cameras, as pictures taken of the band and of people dancing may make suitable candidates for poster printing at a later date.

The band will be performing at the Far Best Theater, 109 N Main St, Mansfield, on Saturday, February 25 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. General tickets will cost $15, while front row seats will go for $20. Seating is limited, so those interested should get their tickets early.
