The city organized two sessions at The Grand View, one in the morning and one in the evening, to tell citizens about proposals for an entirely new town hall, a sports stadium, an entertainment venue, several multi-use facilities, and a train line. Information about ongoing construction is often shared using poster printing on site.
According to local data, the city's population is presently 82,250 and is expected to increase to 100,000 in 2027, then to 150,000 come 2040. Mansfield is home to 30,000 roofs, with new homes costing an average of $611,129, according to the report. Sales tax exceeded $19.5m in 2023.
The new town square and city hall are set to be built with a mile-long canal system. The plan also calls for hotels, a commercial complex, and a convention center, all constructed on the Mansfield Riverwalk. The North Central Texas Council of Government aims to ensure that Mansfield is connected. The NCTCOG intends to build a stop or two in Mansfield on a rail route between Midlothian and Fort Worth by 2045.
