Mansfield wins Mayoral Challenge
Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans and State Rep. David Cook are pleased to report that Mansfield is this year's winner of the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Mayoral Challenge.
The region generated more than $110,000 for individuals in need through friendly rivalry amongst adjacent cities like Mansfield, Dalworthington Gardens, Arlington, Pantego, Hurst, North Richland Hills, Euless, Forest Hill, and Kennedale. Mansfield citizens and companies raised the greatest amount of money among their neighbors, totaling $61,629.
Mansfield has now won the competition 14 times in the 15 years since its inception. Except for 2011, when Arlington welcomed the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders to assist with raising the cash, Mansfield has taken home the win every year. Printing services can be used to help with campaigns in the city.
Mayor Evans, with assistance from city personnel, Bethlehem Baptist Church members, local Boy Scouts, and others, rang the famous Salvation Army bells across Mansfield on December 9th. Evans commented to say:
Evans commended the former mayor, State Rep. David Cook, for getting Mansfield involved in the inaugural Mayoral Challenge when he was Mansfield's mayor from 2008 to 2021.
