Spring is here and Mansfield residents can get outdoors and enjoy the weather at the upcoming H2Grow Spring Living Festival. This event will be free and family oriented.
The DIY stage will have programs running throughout the event. The day will begin with a program titled ‘Best Planting for Mansfield’. Following that, there will be a presentation called ‘Residential Landscape Design’. Howard Garrett, known as ‘The Dirt Doctor’, will offer a presentation and will hold a book signing afterwards. ‘Fixing Leaks Inside and Out’ will follow him, and the last program will be ‘Composting 101’.
Children will get to enter Veggie Car Races, tackle the rock climbing wall, make upcycling nature crafts ,and enjoy Environscapes. Those under 15 can enter a fishing derby, although there is a $5 fee for this last event and registration must be made at the MAC.
A farmers’ market will be selling recycled, reclaimed, and eco-friendly products. Vendors will sell items such as reclaimed products, eco-friendly services and products, locally grown produce, and recycled jewelry and crafts. These merchants will want to remember to get their business card printing done before the event. A Rain Barrel and a silent auction will also be part of the day’s activities.
The event is scheduled for tomorrow, April 23, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Katherine Rose Memorial Park, 303 North Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield.
