Mansfield to get in a pickle in March

Mansfield, Texas will again be holding its annual Pickle Parade, as part of a celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day.

The event – which has been honored by the Texas State Legislature via a resolution – bills itself as the only “Pickle Parade” in the world.

Participants in the parade include the Pickle Queens, Pickle Posse, and Pickle Dude. There are several divisions in addition to the main component of the parade, including baby parades and pet parades, where participants are encouraged to dress their babies or pets up as pickles.

More than just a parade, it is an entire weekend of events featuring a beer keg race, as well as an entire area for local vendors to sell goods and services. The vendor and food slots are listed as full on the parade’s website.

The event is put together by the Pickled Mansfield Society, and is held to benefit a variety of scholarship programs and non-profits throughout the entire area. It traditionally enjoys extensive participation from the Mansfield business community, with a long list of sponsors helping to make the event happen. Sponsors are part of the parade too and are rewarded for their generosity with floats, Promotional Products, and banner printing.

The parade will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19. For more information about the event, visit its website.
