Mansfield to get a two-for-one day

In a few weeks, Mansfield residents will get the opportunity to be a part of an all-day gala that will feature two celebrations.

The first part of the day will be the annual Mansfield Wurst Fest. As always, there will be food and craft vendors who will want to get their business card printing done soon.

Live German music will be provided. Children will have plenty of activities, including multiple bounce houses. Festival goers will enjoy the famous Frankenfurter 500, where dachshund owners can cheer on their pets to racing victory, as well as barrel races through an obstacle course.
The latter part of the day will be the town’s birthday celebration.

Toward the end of next month, the City of Mansfield will be celebrating its 125th year of incorporation. Usually, an event like this would be called a Quasquicentennial (which means ‘fourth’ or ‘quarter’), but the city’s will be called Mansfield 125. Although the historic year has been marked with events, activities, and special programs around town during the year, there will be a major birthday bash that afternoon. The evening will close with fireworks.

The event day is scheduled for September 12 in downtown Mansfield. The Wurst Fest will be from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. The Mansfield 125 celebration begins at 6:00 pm and will go to 11:00 pm, with fireworks starting at 9:30 pm.
