The City of Mansfield will once again be presenting a Rockin’ 4th of July celebration, but this year it will be a little early. However, the event will still be high energy, patriotic, and free.
This year will have plenty of free family activities, such as the homerun derby, ice slide and bounce houses for the kids, and a smash car for the teens. The band High Definition will be playing live music throughout the event. The evening will have a military appreciation program and fireworks will be at dusk.
Everyone is encouraged to bring insect repellent, sunscreen, blankets, and lawn chairs. It may be a good idea to bring some cash for the food and beverages, and for parents to bring something to take pictures of their children enjoying the event. These pictures could make interesting subjects for future personalized poster or postcard printing.
The event will be a day early this year, on Sunday, July 3rd. The fun will begin at 7:00 pm and run until 10:00 pm at Big League Dreams Mansfield Sports Park, 500 Heritage Parkway South in Mansfield. Free parking with shuttle service will be available at Vernon Newson Stadium, Hwy 360 at E. Broad St. beginning at 6:45 pm and ending at 11:00 pm. Outside food, pets, and coolers will not be admitted.
