Mansfield snowmen run for charity

Last year the annual one-mile Winter Walk along the Walnut Creek Linear Trail morphed into the Snowman Run 5K & Family Fun Run. This year the run/walk will be in mid-January.

Instead of the usual graphic design on the race shirts, the shirts for this event will feature three “coal” buttons. Runners add their own snowman accessories such as hats and scarves. The best dressed snowman - or snowwoman - will receive special prizes.

The event will be timed for the serious participants. Prizes will go to the top three finishers in each age category. Prizes will also go to the girls and boys finishers in kids’ categories – 8 years old and under, 9 and 10 year olds, 11 through 13 and 14 through 16.
The event will also have the traditional Family 1-mile walk.

A large fire pit, hot cocoa and s’mores will be waiting at the finish line. Everyone will be invited to participate in a winter activity during the warm down.

Race registration for both children and adults will be $15 until January 5th and $20 after. This also applies to the Family 1-mile Walk.

The Snowman Run 5K & Family Fun Run will be Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Katherine Rose Memorial Park, 303 North Walnut Creek Drive. Check- in will begin at 8 am and the race/walk will start at 9 am.
