Thanks to Mansfield Independent School District, the City of Mansfield and American Legion Post 624, Mansfield will be honoring our veterans with a Veterans Day parade and a concert again this year.
The day will begin in front of City Hall with a Patriotic Salute. Highly decorated vehicles, walking units, military heroes, and floats will be marching down Magnolia Street turning right onto North Wisteria Street then right again onto E. Broad Street. The parade will then turn right and end at the R.L. Anderson Stadium.
Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to have something to sit on. There will be, however, a stage and some bleachers at Mansfield Municipal Court on E. Broad Street.
Units and floats in parades like this usually have banner printing done beforehand so they will have Banners to introduce themselves to the spectators.
Immediately following the parade, around 11:30 am, there will be the annual Patriotic Salute Concert in the R.L. Anderson Stadium, 1015 E. Broad Street. The concert will be free for everyone.
Free parking will be available in both the lot at Erma Nash Elementary School, 1050 Magnolia Street and the R.L. Anderson Stadium parking lot. No make-up date has been scheduled, if the parade gets cancelled for any reason.
The Mansfield’s Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10:00 am on November 9th.
