Mansfield ready to be the life of the party

Taking place this weekend, the Relay for Life of Mansfield is part of the American Cancer Society’s national event and is a special celebration to honor and remember those who have passed away or who have been touched by the effects of the disease.

The organizers invite people to take part in a walk/run event and share time with others who are participating in honor of their loved ones.

The American Cancer Society may have used poster printing to promote this supportive walk/run to people in the community and throughout the area.

As part of this event, teams of people or individuals will take turns walking or running around the provided track for a 12-hour period, while enjoying a party-like celebration. People who are not running or walking have the opportunity to camp out on the grounds and enjoy music, food, and several activities.

Each participant has a goal to raise a minimum of $100 in donations from their company, corporations, friends, and family. Attendance on the day is free and the public is invited to stop in and encourage the teams.

The Relay for Life in Mansfield will be taking place on Saturday, May 17, from 12:00 pm to 11:55 pm at the Danny Jones Middle School located at 4500 Broad Street. To learn more about this event, or to register for the walk/run, visit the Relay for Life Mansfield website or call Beth Anne Underwood at 817-570-0611.
