Mansfield not waiting until the 4th for celebrations

Mansfield will celebrate the 4th of July a little early this year, with the two days before it offering a range of attractions and activities.

Kids will be heading out to the Red, White & Rockin’ Kids’ Triathlon on Tuesday, July 2, in an event event will have two distances. The 6 to 10-year-old juniors will swim 130 meters, bike 3.1 miles, and run a half mile. The 11 to 15-year-old seniors will swim 200 meters, bike 6.2 miles, and run a mile. The bike course will be close to and the run will take place at the baseball complex, Big League Dreams. Hawaiian Falls Lazy River will be the location of the swim.

Participants will receive custom tech shirts touting the Kids’ Triathlon graphic design, finisher medals, and admission to Hawaiian Falls and food after the race.

Kids need to be at Hawaiian Falls Mansfield, 490 Heritage Parkway South by 7:30 am.

Mansfield Texas Rockin’ 4th of July will actually take place from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3 at Big League Dreams Mansfield. The festival will be free and there will be live music, games, and lots of food vendors. Fireworks will cap off the evening.

Free parking will be available at MISD Vernon Newson Stadium, 605 East Broad Street, and everyone can get to the festivities on free shuttle buses. Big League Dreams is located at 500 Heritage Parkway.
