The 8th annual St. Paddy’s Day Pickle Parade and Palooza is on tap for mid-March.
Historic Downtown Mansfield will become alive with its annual Pickle Palooza Marketplace on Friday March 13th and Saturday, March 14th.
At 5:00 pm on Friday, the 13th, Main Street will go to the dogs, cats and other pets for the St. Paddy’s Pickle Pet Parade. Prizes will be awarded in Pickle, Irish or Military costume categories. Winners in events such as these often take pictures of themselves, their pets and their prizes. These photos often go to local Print shops for duplicates to send to family and friends.
At 6:00 pm, the Keg Races take over as local business representatives, non-profit members and individuals mount their motorized beer kegs and race down Main Street.
Festivities will continue on Saturday at 8:00 am with the 1-mile, 5k, and 10k Pickle Run beginning at St. Jude Catholic Church, 500 E. Dallas Street. Costume and dance contests will start at 8:30 am.
At 10:30 am, Main Street in Historic Downtown Mansfield will go to the Baby Parade. Prizes will be given in Most Creative, Most Pickled and Military-themed categories.
At 1:00 pm, the main event, the Pickle Parade will be replete with marching units, floats, and this year’s Mansfield’s Pickle Queens. Attired in their signature green thrift-store quality gowns, fiery red wigs and tiaras the ladies will be accompanied by the Pickle Posse.
