Mansfield will be celebrating Earth Day 2019 with a festival at the end of this month. The third Earth Day Mansfield will be an environment education day along with plenty of fun activities.
The Mansfield Farmers’ Market will be full swing selling fresh fruits and vegetables. A kids’ fishing tournament will keep the little ones occupied, along with lots of environmentally themed activities. Local clubs and associations will be manning educational booths, including Stream Trailer Education. Food trucks will be hawking their treats, and there will be a butterfly release. Master Gardeners from Tarrant County will be on hand to answer gardening questions.
Individuals and local organizations have been painting plastic rain barrels and entering them in the 2019 Earth Day Mansfield Rain Barrel Painting Contest. Everyone can bid on the winning rain barrel during the Rain Barrel Silent Auction.
Environmentally friendly and natural product vendors and local businesses will be on site passing out Business Cards and selling the likes of locally produced or grown items, and arts and crafts that have been made from recycled/repurposed materials.
Adult education will be the theme of a few of the booths, and it will also be the topic of some of the speakers for the day.
Earth Day Mansfield will be April 27 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Chris W. Burkett Service Center, 620 S. Wisteria St.
