Mansfield brings in Hometown Holidays

Mansfield will be celebrating the season with its annual Hometown Holidays coming in early December.

Hometown Holidays Festival on Friday, December 6 will start at 5:00 pm when in their house, Santa and his missus start to listen to the little ones. The Tree Lighting will take place at 6:30 pm at Mansfield City Hall. Santa will arrive and fireworks will sparkle overhead. There will be live reindeer as part of the petting zoo, games, rides, and interactive activities such as making ornaments and decorating holiday cookies.

For a small fee guests can enjoy sledding on a snow hill and street hockey crafts, while Santa and the petting zoo will be available for free.

This year, there will be vendor, shopping, and crafts booths for guests to get a start on their Christmas lists. The event should close around 9:00 pm.

Festivities begin again the next afternoon as Music Palace Mansfield will have a special performance at noon in Main Street. The Hometown Holiday Parade will then begin at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 7 at 106 S. Wisteria Street. The parade will last for approximately two and a half hours. There will be all the horses, bands, and other traditional holiday units. Units in holiday parades often get updated banner printing to reflect the holiday theme. Santa, of course, will be at the end.
