Locals on the run to assist new school

Mansfield runners will be able to help the new Nancy Neal Elementary School PTA buy library Books, purchase shade cover for its playground, and secure technology equipment by running in the upcoming Run Cheetah Run 5K.

Local energetic small fry can enter their own one-mile fun run. The name of this event is in reference to the name of the new school’s athletes and mascot, the N Cheetahs.

Whether rooting for the little ones or for bigger runners, families and other supporters will want to get their banner printing done as soon as possible—a family banner can be used over and over for future runs, as well as for other events. Parents may also want to take some candid shots of their children during the event to supply the school with pictures for the yearbook before it goes to the printing company.

The Fun Run will be held March 28 at Rose Memorial Park, 303 N. Walnut Creek Drive, in Mansfield. The start time will be 8:30 am. The entry fee is presently $12 but will go up to $17 after March 13.

The adult 5 K kickoff will start at 9:15 am and has a preregistration fee of $22.50. This fee will also be in effect until March 13, after which the price will go up to $27.50.
