Hometown Holidays coming soon

Mansfield families will want to reserve a three-day weekend for Mansfield Hometown Holidays, offering a great opportunity to get the Christmas season started with family, friends, and neighbors. Most events will be free.

The first evening will see a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with entertainment, food and children’s activities, followed by a Tree Lighting ceremony—after which, the sky will light up with fireworks. During the evening, there will also be a Holiday Market featuring more than 30 craft vendors. The evening will end with a program of Penguins from the Dallas Zoo.

Early the next morning, runners will be lining up to participate in the Kiwanis Falalala 5K. Later in the day, the Hometown Holiday Parade will step off in Historic Downtown Mansfield. This year’s parade will have more than 50 entries, and banner printing should be in full swing to get them ready in time.

On the third day, there will be home tours conducted by the Mansfield Women’s’ Club, and The ‘Big Brassy Christmas’ concert that evening will feature the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

The event will run December 5-7. Activities for the first night will run from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at City Hall. The parade and 5K run will be held December 6. The concert will start at 7:00 pm on December 7 at the Center for Performing Arts in Mansfield.
