To kick off the 2020 holiday season, Historic Downtown Mansfield will hold its annual Hometown Holidays Main Street Midway in early December.
For four hours on Friday evening, the event will bring in the holidays with musical performances, food trucks, carnival rides, crafts, games, an ice slide, and a petting zoo. The highlight of the evening will take place at 6:30 pm at the LOT Downtown, as everyone gathers to see the tree lighting ceremony. After this, fireworks will take place in Historic Downtown.
The fun will continue the next morning as all the activities apart from the ice slide will start up again at noon. A Kid Rodeo and Midway games will be added to the agenda. A holiday concert will be held at the Farr Best Theater and fireworks will go off at 6:30 pm.
Children will need to have their Christmas lists with them as Santa will be available for visits and pictures on both days. Parents usually bring their cameras to events like this so they can capture their little ones on Santa’s knee. Often, these pictures are taken to nearby Stationery printers to be made into colorful Holiday Cards.
Hometown Holidays Main Street Midway will take place in Historic Downtown Mansfield on Friday, December 4 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and again from noon until 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 5.
