Golfers play Par for the Kids

Many local golfers will be playing Par for the Kids Golf Tournament coming in mid-September.

Par for the Kids will be celebrating its 30th year in supporting Greater Tarrant County’s Boys and Girls Clubs.

The tournament will have a long drive and Closet to the Pin Contests, and mulligans. Local businesses are donating items for the silent auction. Proceeds will go to funding enriching and nurturing programs to over 28,000 of the community’s children.

Registration, lunch, putting contest, and silent auction will be from 10:00 am until noon. Tee time will begin at 12:30 pm. At 5:30 pm, there will be a helicopter ball drop, dinner, prizes, and the awards ceremony.

The Helicopter Ball Drop is a contest where balls - each with the name of a contestant written on it - are dropped from a helicopter, and the one that lands closest to the pre-designated pin wins a prize.

Many sponsor tickets are sold out. The ones left are the $3,000 cart, $2,500 tee, $1,250 green sponsors, and the $500 Friends of the Tournament packages. Each sponsor needs to get its Logo Design to the event committee soon before the registration brochure printing is done, and should remember to include their Promotional Products in the favor Bags.

Par for the Kids Golf Tournament will take place September 14 at the Walnut Creek Country Club, 1151 Country Club Drive.
