Day for dogs awaits in Mansfield

Mansfield Animal Care & Control in partnership with Mansfield Park and Recreation will hold its annual Barks & Rec 5K in early April.

Runners and walkers will bring their own dogs, or borrow one for the day from the local shelter. Both dog and owner will get the opportunity to get a little exercise outdoors in the fresh air. All participants will receive race Bags and T-Shirts emblazoned with the race graphic design. Runners may participate without a pet if they so choose.

A dog-centered festival will take place after the race. Local pet-related businesses will be there hawking their products and services. At events such as this, many businesses like to give out free Promotional Products, Business Cards, and offer special discounts. The venue will also have games and activities, and all local shelters participating in the event will be on-site after the race with discounted adoptions.

Three sponsor options still available are the vendor booths at $150, Tail Wagers at $500, and Man’s Best Friend at $1,000. Each of the latter two sponsorships includes Logo Design on signage at the venue. Banner printing is being carried out for those businesses that participate at the Man’s Best Friend level.

The Barks & Rec Race will be held Saturday, April 6 from 9:00 am until 11:30 am at the Katherine Rose Memorial Park, 303 North Walnut Creek Drive.
