July is approaching quickly, and that can only mean Independence Day is right around the corner. This year, Mansfield will once again host its traditional Rockin’ Fourth, offering recreation, rock-n-roll, and rockets. As always, the event will be free.
The All Funk Radio Show will present live music throughout the evening. A special musical performance this year will be the Mullet Bozs. Games will be provided by the Game Truck. This year there will be more than one bounce house. Everyone will want to participate in the ice slide and smash car activities. A military appreciation ceremony will take place to honor the holiday. The big finale will be a better-than-ever fireworks display.
The event organizers suggest that guests bring blankets insect repellant sunscreen, lawn chairs and plenty of cash for food and beverages that may be purchased at the Diamond Club Restaurant. The city may want to have a photographer on hand to take shots of interesting subjects to the brochure printers for the city’s 2016 pamphlets.
No parking will be available at the site, however, there will be shuttle service from and free parking at Newsom Stadium.
The event is scheduled for Friday, July 3, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Big League Dreams Sports Park, 500 Heritage Parkway, Mansfield. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 pm.
