Mansfield Parks and Recreation is inviting everyone to get out and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine by participating in its annual Winter Walk.
The walk will meander along the Walnut Creek Linear Trails and end at Town Park. The Cook Children’s Medical Center will again this year be sponsoring the event. The community walk began back in 2006 and continues today celebrating health, wellness, and Mansfield’s award-winning park system.
Walkers will amble along the concrete or soft surface of the nature trails, stopping at birdwatching stations and scenic overlooks along the way. The 1.9-mile trail connects four neighborhoods, two schools, and five parks. If the weather cooperates, the trails this year will feature picturesque scenes that printing companies may use for Stationery printing.
Participants can enjoy the health fair and family-oriented activities that will await them at the end of the journey at Town Park. Once again, the emphasis will be on living a healthy lifestyle—the fair will have demonstrations and discussions on topics such as car seat installation, bike safety, sports injuries, and nutrition. Children can enjoy face painting and many other activities. Many vendors will be selling food items as well.
The walk is scheduled for January 24, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, at the Katherine Rose Memorial Park, 303 N. Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
