Eldred Marshall, a critically acclaimed pianist and artist, will be performing a series of music, songs and poetry at the Farr Best Theatre next month.
The music is all inspired by African American history and songs, and the event itself is centered on “Negro folksong, Negro Spirituals and virtuoso showmanship.”
Marshall himself has played across the United States and in many international venues. According to his website, he focuses many of his efforts on performing traditional African American pieces to audiences that are not familiar with the topic.
The event is being promoted by the Mansfield Commission for the Arts, which seeks to expand the quality of life of Mansfield and promote a variety of artistic events and endeavors.
The event itself will take place at the Farr Best Theater, located at 109 N. Main Street in Mansfield, Texas. It will be on February 12, starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for students and seniors, and can be purchased from the Mansfield Commission for the Arts website.
Parking is available either on the street or the Walnut Street Lot. Attendees unfamiliar areas can often find lots thanks to directional signage printed by local Print shops.
