Lewisville Western Days is on the way, and promises a weekend of fun and excitement, including everything from a cattle drive parade to a tamale eating contest.
The World Tamale Eating Championship will take place for the 14th time, but it is only one of many events on the schedule. Others include the Indigenous A.C.E. Dancers and Singers, the Castle Hills Culinary Corner, Castle Hills’ Kid Kountry Playground, the Huffines Auto Dealerships Lewisville Cattle Drive Parade, a working blacksmith, an art exhibit in the Grand Theater at the Medical Center Lewisville, and five stages of live entertainment.
Headlining the live entertainment on the first night is the Randy Rogers Band, who take the stage at 10:00 pm. The band formed in 2000, and its current lineup has been together since 2002. Early in 2005, two songs from the group’s ‘Rollercoaster’ album hit the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
The second night, the spotlight is on Gary Allen, a California native who has sold more than seven million albums since starting out in 1996. Five of his albums have gone gold, and three have hit platinum.
Dozens of other performers will join in the fun over the festival’s two days. Sponsors of events like this have a chance to distribution Promotional Products to call attention to their brand.
Lewisville Western Days is scheduled for September 28 and 29 in Old Town Lewisville. Gates are set to open 5:00 pm on Friday and 10:00 am on Saturday.
