Lewisville announces Ukrainian independence celebration

Lewisville has always represented a patchwork of cultures, and it has become home to a number of Ukrainians. The community is beginning to gear up for a festival scheduled to take place in August celebrating Ukrainian independence.

2026 marks the 35th year since Ukraine broke free from the former Soviet Union. Known as Ukraine's 35th Anniversary of Renewed Independence, this year's celebration is meant to recognize how far the country has come, and the contributions that citizens have made to the Lewisville community.

This event is slated to feature a host of unique activities. Some of these include on-site food vendors, traditional Ukrainian folk singing, dance competitions, and performances highlighting Ukrainian music. Although the festival will primarily be focusing on Ukrainian culture, it is open to everyone. The main goal is to foster pride within a safe, fun, and welcoming environment.

Community-oriented events such as this will often employ culturally relevant marketing techniques to resonate with the intended audience. For instance, they may use brochure printing services to provide bilingual itineraries. Other methods might include placing Banners around the city center, handing out Flyers, and placing leaflets in locations associated with Ukrainian culture.

Ukraine's 35th Anniversary of Renewed Independence is being celebrated on Saturday, August 22nd at 3 PM. This event is being held within the Lewisville Grand Theatre located at 100 North Charles Street. Admission is free, and no tickets are needed.
