One of the biggest celebrations in Lewisville is on the way, as the city gets ready to celebrate Western Days.
The event is family-friendly, and features five stages of live entertainment, and many activities including Castle Hills Culinary Corner; the Huffines Auto Dealerships Lewisville Cattle Drive Parade; a working blacksmith; a mechanical bull; the Tribal Traditions Dance Troupe; and a Western Village.
The two headliners this year are the Josh Abbott Band, and Brett Young. Young will appear the first night, appearing at 10:00 pm on the Republic Services Main Stage. Young has become known for a style he has dubbed “Caliville,” combining California and the South into his own sound. He was named New Male Vocalist of the Year in 2018 by the Academy of Country Music.
The Josh Abbot Band will appear the second night on the Republic Services Main Stage, starting at 10:00 pm. JAB, as they're known, are on tour to support their new EP, “Catching Fire.” The band's fans have been following the group for over a decade as it became first a touring success, then a regional act, and finally a nationally known group with a coast-to-coast following.
Western Days is set for today and tomorrow (September 27 and 28), in and near Wayne Ferguson Plaza, which is in Old Town Lewisville. Gates open at 5:00 pm tonight and at 10.00 am tomorrow morning. Banner printing can be used to provide colorful decorations for events like this.
