The Together Lewisville Coalition has teamed up with the Next Steps Center to offer the first-ever Community Resource Expo. The event will bring nonprofit, county, and city organizations together in one place where residents can learn about programs, resources, and social services available to them.
In addition to learning about the resources available to them, attendees will have a chance to have their glucose levels and blood pressure checked for free. There will also be people there to provide free haircuts. The event will also give the organizers a chance to understand the needs of members of the community.
There are several organizations participating, including the Military Veteran Peer Network; the Grace Compassion Home Health Agency; Youth and Family Counseling; the New Hope Learning Center; Health Services of North Texas; the Salvation Army; and Habit for Humanity of Denton County. Events like this can be enhanced if organizers use flyer printing to list vendors and their services.
The Together Lewisville Coalition (TLC) is a group of businesses, institutions, social service agencies, and government entities who are interested in helping make Lewisville a better place. TLC’s aim is to increase the reach of the support networks that exist in the local community by synching efforts and creating connections.
The expo is set for 9:00 am until noon this Saturday, November 3, at the Next Steps Center, located at 1305 SH 121 Business. The event is free, and there will be light refreshments provided.
