A special event is coming up in Lewisville to support important research.
Think Pink Crop for a Cure is a crafting and scrapbooking event that supports a number of charities that are doing research into breast cancer. The event lasts all day, and funds raised go to support the 2020 Mamma Jamma Ride as well as teams taking part in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk. The walks raise money to fund further research, provide diagnostic services and mammograms, and make people aware of the issue.
The event started in 2007 when a group of friends got together to raise money to support another friend who had been diagnosed with the disease. “Pam's Pals” drew the attention of Crafty Neighbor, and the event was a great success. A second fundraiser was also successful in 2009, so it was decided to keep going. In 2011 and 2012, members of the group took part in the 3-Day Walk for the Komen Foundation, and in 2013, the event was renamed to indicate its broader appeal, and is now Pink Crop and Craft for the Cure.
The event will take place at the Music City Mall in Lewisville on July 18, from 10.00 am until midnight that night. Tickets are $60 for croppers—a crop is an event where people work on scrapbooks together—and $100 for VIPs; general admission is free. Poster printing is an outstanding method for advertising local events like this.
